InMotion is developing electric refueling, which means that recharging an electric car is as fast as refueling a gas car. This reduces waiting times at charging stations, allows for smaller batteries and lowers the barrier to electric driving for consumers. This, in turn, will accelerate the energy transition.

To tackle climate change, the energy transition within the automotive sector is crucial. However, only 3% of cars in the Netherlands have a sustainable engine, even though from 2030 only electric cars may be sold new.

The Next Generation Battery Pack – InMotion’s latest innovation – can charge in as little as 03:56 minutes and is currently the fastest charging battery pack in a race car in the world. Massively fast charging of a battery pack releases a great deal of heat. To remove this heat from the pack, we applied cell-level cooling. This means that we cool each cell individually and maintain the optimal temperature of the battery. This allows us to charge very quickly without reducing the battery’s performance.
